DO 'S

Is aware of both the person giving

birth and the needs

 of the possible partner / support person.

Encourages and guides during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum.

DON'TS

Takes the partner / support person's place or reduces its significance in the context.

DO 'S

Offers continuous support throughout the pregnancy, which the

hospital care usually can not.

Complements the midwife and other staff during the birth by being a support without medical knowledge.

DON'T S

Counteracts healthcare staff by being in the way and / or constantly questioning their recommendations.

DO ' S

Supports through massage, help with different positions and relaxing techniques.

DON ' TS

Perform medical assessments or examinations.

DOSE

Helps you formulate and present your goals / wishes and strives with you to achieve those goals.

DON ' TS

Have your own personal agenda

Trying to control or in some way take over the birth.

DO 'S

Shares evidence-based and experience-based information.

Encourages informed consent.

Facilitates communication with healthcare.

DON'TS

Decides for the person giving birth / couple.
